Bible Commentaries

Matthew Henry's Concise Bible Commentary

This is the single volume commentary covering every book of the Bible. It is a condensed version of Matthew Henry's six volume work which covers each chapter in more detail.

Commentary Critical and Explanatory on the Whole Bible

Written by Robert Jamieson, A.R. Fausset and David Brown and published in 1871, this one volume commentary on the whole Bible offers practical insight from a Reformed Evangelical perspective. The comments are a balance between learning and devotion, with an emphasis on allowing the text to speak for itself.

Barnes' Notes on the New Testament

Albert Barnes' conservative verse by verse explanation of the King James text of the Bible. Without question a thoroughly evangelical resource, it offers an exceptional blend of scholarly insight and non-technical language. Although Barnes did publish commentary on the entire Bible, this electronic edition is restricted to the New Testament.
